DescriptionThis sub-fonds consists of documents pertaining to the acquisition, expansion, contraction, maintenance, repair and history of Froebel Educational Institute's buildings, facilities, sites and grounds. It includes plans; surveys; drawings; property deeds; correspondence, invoices and bills pertaining to maintenance and repair; documents pertaining to Froebel Educational Institute building rental by outside organisations; documents pertaining to student lodging (i.e., hostels); and pamphlets and other writings on the history of a variety of buildings, sites and landlords (i.e., landowners). The following buildings, sites and expansion projects are present in the series: 1961 expansion, Ark Cottages (Offley Place), Centre for Development in Primary Education, Colet Gardens, Digby Stuart College, Downshire House, Esther Lawrence building, Froebel Library extension, Grove House Ice House, Grove House, Harvey Building, Heveningham Hall (home of Sir Joshua Vanneck), Hill House (Templeton), Ibstock Place, Knebworth House, Little Gaddesden, Livingstone Cottage (Grove House), Lulham extension, Lyne Stephens Mausoleum, Montefiore Hall, New Residential Wing, New Science Department, Offley, Physical Education and Dance Facility, Roehampton Chapel, Roehampton Lane, Roehampton Parish, Roehampton, Southlands College, Staff Common Room, Templeton, The Bungalow, The Lodge (Ibstock Place), Trevor House (i.e., Tudor Cottage; Templeton), Trinity Church, Wandsworth, and Whitelands College.
