Description | The series consists of stylistically similar, mostly handmade and inscribed albums of photographs and magazine/newspaper images of ballets and divertissements, as well as albums and photographs of dancers. Most albums and photographs relate to Sadler's Wells Ballet although other ballet companies are included. In addition the series holds a folder with production photograph prints of "The Red Shoes" film [?1948].
All albums are made of individually cut pages of green, light cardboard, covered in black strong cardboard, holed in two places and tied together using shoelaces. Titles were added on the front cover. Care has been taken with overall design, inscriptions and decoration. Images have been glued to the surface using front and back. |

The stylistic similarity of most handmade albums prompt the assumption that that they were made within a short amount of time, possibly 1965 or shortly after using photographic material collected over the years.
