- Handwritten notes containing ideas for William stories, including "William and the Haunted Cottage", "William and Pets' Club" ["William and the Pets' Club"], "Archie Has a Party", "William Beats the Record" and unnamed William stories; notes written c1957-c1964.
- Notes discussing the world the William stories are set in, including: a list of characters who live near [William's] home; a list of places near William's home; a list of William's relatives; notes about the characters William, Henry, Ethel, Violet Elizabeth, H Lane, Ginger, and Robert; notes written c1930s-c1960s.
Some of the notes in the file are written on scrap paper; items used for scrap paper include:
- Pages from annotated, typed draft copy of a script for a William [radio play?]; draft copies created and annotated in c1967.
