Title[Richmal Crompton] Annotated, typed draft copies of stories by Richmal Crompton, most of which are William stories
Date20th Century
Extent1 file
DescriptionThe file contains annotated, typed draft copies of stories by Richmal Crompton, most of which are William stories. The first sheet in the file has been annotated in the c1960s with the words "scrap paper", suggesting that the draft copies were intended for use as scrap paper [although only a few of the pages appear to have been used as scrap paper]. The file contains draft copies of the following stories [all are William stories except where stated]: - "William and the Pop Singers"; draft copy created and annotated in c1965. - "William and the Protest Marchers"; draft copy created and annotated in c1965. - "The Outlaws and the Ghost"; draft copy created and annotated in c1965. - "Mrs Bott and the Portrait"; draft copy created and annotated in c1964. - "Violet Elizabeth's Party"; draft copy created and annotated in c1964. - "William the Psychiatrist"; draft copy created and annotated in c1964. - "William and the Parsons' Guy"; draft copy created and annotated in c1962. - "William and the Cottage"; draft copy created and annotated in c1962. - "William and Detective Journalism"; draft copy created and annotated in c1962. -"Douglas's Great Experience"; draft copy created and annotated in c1966. - A section of "William and the Holiday Centre"; draft copy created and annotated in c1962. - A section of "William's Escape Route"; draft copy created and annotated in c1965. - A section of "William's Summer Holiday"; draft copy created and annotated in c1966. - A section of "William and the Holiday Task"; draft copy created and annotated in c1965. - Sections of unnamed stories; draft copies created and annotated in c1950s. (These draft copies appear to have been annotated in the late 20th Century [by Richmal Ashbee? niece of Richmal Crompton] to give the names of some of the stories; these stories are: "?Pied Piper" [full title unknown], and "Blind Man's Folly" ["Blind Man's Buff"? or "Wiseman's Folly"? - these are not William stories].)
