DescriptionThe file contains annotated, typed draft copies of scripts for the following episodes of William [radio] plays [these radio plays were likely created for broadcast by the British Broadcasting Corporation, although some don't appear to have been broadcast] (all created and annotated in c1940s-c1950s): - "William Finds Murderers Colonel Messiter and Gardener" - "William Catching a Smuggler" - "Cousin Percy's Visit" - "Sectional Hen-House" - "Helping an Author" - "Artist's Model" - "Brightening Up E's [Ethel's] Party" or "W [William] Helps With E's [Ethel's] Party" - "Fortune-Telling" - "Better Conditions for Boys" - "W [William] and 4.40" - "Getting Robert Married" - "Archie's Birthday" - "Righting a Wrong" - "W [William] and the Professor" - "Secret Society" - "William and Chemistry Set in Archie's Attic" - "Uncle Ernest" - "Returned Traveller" - "William Saves Archie From Having Miss M as Next Door Neighbour" - "Ethel the Film Star" or "Job for Ethel" - "Working for Peace" - "Xmas Party" - "Picnic for Six" - "Abyssinian Retriever" - "Haunted Cottage" - A section from the episode "Mr B's [Brown's] Business Friend" - A section from an unnamed episode Also included in the file are a few pages of a handwritten draft copy of the episode "Professor" ["William and the Professor"]; draft copy created c1940s-c1950s. This draft copy has been written on scrap paper; items used for scrap paper include pages from an annotated, typed draft copy of a [non-William?] story; draft copy created c1940s-c1950s. (Additional notes were added to the file [by the archive] in 2009, marking episodes that were not known to have been broadcast.)
